The Wellness Champion Award honors an individual whose work puts people first —fostering wellbeing, inclusion, and sustainability within the veterinary profession. The 2026 U.S. Bright Mind Wellness Champion is Melyssa Allen!

Melyssa Allen is a dedicated advocate for mental health, resilience, and sustainable health promoting habits that support professional well-being. With academic training spanning biology, clinical psychology, and lifestyle medicine, she brings an integrative, science-based approach grounded in empathy among the real-world demands of veterinary medicine.

Through education, coaching, and consulting for employee health and well-being, Melyssa helps normalize mental-health conversations, educates on resilience building habits, and equips professionals with tools to thrive, not just survive.
